Double-eye lid surgery can be performed to correct effects associated with individuals for inherited traits. Younger people also elect to have this procedure done to eliminate puffiness of the eyes from congenital excess fatty tissue.

Results and Benifits of Eyelid Surgery Operation
Eyelid Surgery can make a remarkable difference in the appearance of the face, alleviating the appearance of tiredness and old age by eliminating the excess, wrinkly skin beneath the eyes. The eyes appear fresher and more youthful, and the results may last for many years. The degree of improvement varies from patient to patient.
Important note: Eyelid surgery will not eliminate dark circles, fine lines or wrinkles around the eyes, or alter sagging eyebrows. To enhance the results of your eyelid procedure, your doctor may also recommend:
- Brow lift to correct a drooping brow and smooth the forehead
- Facelift for saggy jowls
- Skin resurfacing to eliminate fine lines.

Laser and No-Cut Suture Technique
Asian patients have special concerns which may not be familiar to all plastic surgeons. ThaiMed board certified plastic surgyer eye surgeons have years of experience with a wide range of different types of eyes due to the international diversity of Thailand. Common Asian eye types for eyelid surgery include China, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines.
Most patients are interested in the creation of an eyelid crease, called the double eyelid operation. In young patients, this can often be accomplished with NO incision or cutting. Sutures are passed inside the eyelid to create a new crease. The crease must be placed precisely and delicately. The result is usually permanent. Some patients require the removal of some extra skin or fat, and this is done with the CO2 laser. The laser surgery causes very little and often no bruising or black and blue, and so you can return to your work and everyday life within a few days or a week.
Lower eyelids can be a problem with age, and bulging of fat gives a tired or sad appearance. Most Asian patients do not need any skin removed from the lower eyelids, and so a laser approach through the inside of the eyelid is used (transconjunctival blepharoplasty). This often leaves no bruising or black and blue, and allows complete recovery in five days to a week. As the skin is not cut, there is no scarring.
