Acne Scar Removal By Laser Resurfacing
Laser resurfacing is the most recently developed technique for skin resurfacing. Specially designed, pulsed CO2 lasers can vaporize skin layer by layer, causing minimal damage to other skin tissue. Special scanning devices move the laser light across the skin in predetermined patterns, ensuring proper exposure.
Laser resurfacing appears to achieve its best results as a spot treatment; patients expecting complete elimination of scars and purely normal skin appearance will not be satisfied.
Laser scar resurfacing as a treatment for acne scars appear to be more successful in convex areas of the face. Lateral cheek and the temples do not benefit from this technique as much.

Acne scar removal by dermabrasion
Dermabrasion, a method of abrasion of the top layers of skin surrounding the acne scar, is a non-laser technique which results in skin of more nearly the same level. Acne scars show partly due to shadows. After dermabrasion, the skin has a smoother texture and healthy new skin cells are brought to the surface. Multiple treatments may be required to produce the best results.
Dermabrasion sometimes results in more pale skin where applied. Also, some kinds of acne scars cannot be removed completely. Bleeding is common during the dermabrasion operation.

Before acne treatment
Antiviral medications should be started several days before some kinds of procedures. Laser resurfacing is performed under local anesthesia. An oral sedative may also be taken. The patient's eyes must be shielded, and the area surrounding the face should be shielded with wet drapes or crumpled foil to catch stray beams of laser light. The physician will mark the scar areas to be treated before beginning the procedure. After acne treatment
Skin moisturize of crucial importance after laser resurfacing. This promotes more rapid healing and reduces the risk of infection. Some physicians favor application of ointments only to the skin; others prefer the use of dressings.
In either case, care of the skin is similar to that given following a chemical peel. The face is washed with plain water to remove ooze, and an ointment is reapplied. Healing will take approximately two weeks. Pain medications and a steroid to reduce swelling may also be taken.

Diamond Treatment - Microdermabrasion
A fine sand papering effect,
Microdermabrasion is one of the latest and most popular skin resurfacing solutions offered in the area of cosmetic medicine. It is then perhaps surprising to realize that it is derived from dermabrasion, a procedure that goes back as far as 100 years.
Imagine someone finely sandpapering the skin, using a small spinning wheel to remove the upper layers. In this procedure, local anesthesia is required, and for a few days the patient's skin will have to be protected by some semi-permeable dressings to relieve the "brush burned'' effect. Despite the minor side effects, microdermabrasion is an excellent choice for the treatment of bad acne and deep facial scars.
Microdermabrasion is a mild skin resurfacing treatment. No anesthetics are required here, and peeling does not go beyond the epidermis.
Microdermabrasion is perfect for darker-skinned patients, as it leaves them with no worries over scarring. Like IPL, there is also barely any downtime at all. Patients can immediately apply their makeup and leave after the procedure.
Microdermabrasion smoothens and lightens your skin by way of abrading or removing your dead skin cells. This is an exfoliation technique using a handheld wand that gently blasts fine particles such as aluminum oxide microcrystals or diamond dust onto your skin. This wand also sucks the dead cells and microfine particles as it massages the patient's face.
Microdermabrasion does not use any chemicals or laser, and is therefore perfect for patients with sensitive skin or an allergic reaction to chemical peels. Microdermabrasion can also treat skin conditions appearing on other parts of our body such as the neck, chest, arms and legs.

IPL: Intense Pulsed Light skin rejuvenation
"Cooking the Pigmentation Away"
IPL works by sending collective waves of light that cook dark pigment. It works on the basis that Sight absorbs dark colors. Because pigment spots are darker than the other parts of your face, these areas absorb the light. The lighter non-pigmented parts of your face, on the other hand, reflect the light. When the pigmented areas absorb the light, they are cooked. When this happens, they burn, and are dislodged from the skin.
IPL is one of the latest treatments for skin rejuvenation. It has been around for about four years, and in 2000 it was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States for the purposes of skin rejuvenation.
IPL works on the same principles as a laser. Using a handheld appliance, the doctor fires beams of light onto the patient's face. However, unlike laser, IPL provides a technology that allows the doctor to vary the wavelength of the light he sends onto the skin. This gives the doctor a lot more space and discretion when treating patients as he can treat each patient with the wavelength which, according to his judgment, is suitable for that patient's skin condition.
Patients normally need to complete a series of five to six IPL treatments to achieve a fairer and more youthful complexion. IPL is a favorite lunch hour treatment that gives the patient the instant liberty to continue with her activities.
